Served 3 years, 9 mo. Rec. Honorable Discharge. He d. at Atwood, Kansas, Mar. 7, 1919. He grad. Univ. of N.Y.City at age of 21.

Obituary.
"William Stedman Maltby was born in Oneida Co., N.Y., Feb. 5th, 1840, and died in Kansas March 7, 1919, aged 79 years, 1 month, and 2 days.
He graduated from the University of New York at the age of twentyone. He enlisted in the first New York Light Artillery Company A., United States Army and served three years and nine months when he received an Honorable Discharge. He uas united with the Episcopalian church at Washington, D.C., at the age of twenty-two.
